Along with purchasing costume jewelry for your trips, there are some other tips that we would like to share with you.
When preparing your outfits for travelling, pick pieces of jewelry that can be worn with several of your outfits. This way you won’t have as much to take with you or purchase prior to your trip.
Make sure that you are wearing minimal jewelry when having to go through security at the airport. Normally things like your rings won’t set off the detectors, however some necklaces and bracelets and dangling earrings will. It’s best not to have to take off all that jewelry when going through the security. If you are carrying jewelry with you in a carry on and you do not have it in a travel jewelry case, place each individual piece in a baggie and then all the baggies into one large baggie. If you have chains, you can drape them over a small piece of cardboard with slits in them so they don’t tangle. I use those snack size baggies for mine and they work out perfect.
Do not travel with pieces of jewelry that are very important to you even if they are insured. Even though they can be placed monetarily, the sentiment cannot be replaced and there is no amount of insurance money that can replace that for you.
